COLOMBO (News 1st): Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya says the Ministry of Education has been urged to include road discipline and traffic rules within the Sri Lankan school curriculum.

The IGP said, that many countries incorporate road discipline and traffic rules into school education, rather than limiting them to driving licence examinations.

He stressed that road discipline cannot be improved through fines alone, but requires an attitudinal change beginning at a young age.

According to the IGP, introducing these concepts to children from an early age is essential to promoting better road discipline and awareness.
