1633 arrested in October for violating quarantine curfew

153 people were arrested for the violation of the quarantine curfew and 35 vehicles were seized in the 24 hour window ending at 0600 hours on Sunday (01), said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.
1633 people were arrested since the 04th of October for the violation of the quarantine curfew, said DIG Ajith Rohana.
During the same time period 253 were seized by Police.
61 people were arrested on 30th and 31st of October for failing to wear a facemask in public and for not maintaining social distancing.
DIG Ajith Rohana urged the general public to comply with the quarantine regulations especially with following the facemask concept and the social distancing concept.
