Mother loses life in accident at corn factory

COLOMBO (News1st): A mother of one lost her life while operating a machine at a corn factory in Polonnaruwa on Sunday. Wimala Pushparani, 49, had met her tragic fate, after a scarf had become entangled in a machine and had reeled her in. She had been employed to support her husband, a farmer, to collect money for the future of their two year-old son. Pushparani had been rushed to the Attakandawala hospital, but had been transferred as there were no facilities to provide further treatment. She succumbed to her injuries while being transferred to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital.
