COLOMBO (News1st): A case filed against two Blue Ocean Group companies for failing to construct property worth Rs 275 million and vesting them with a buyer was taken up for hearing on Tuesday.
Defence Counsel Janaprith Fernando argued that the projects could not be completed on time due to certain policy changes, the April 21st attacks and the COVID-19 pandemic.
He told the court that the construction of the property in question would recommence and would be concluded by September next year.
President's Counsels Faiszer Mustapha and Wasantha Navarathna Bandara who appeared for the plaintiff emphasised that their client had deposited funds worth Rs 275 million.
They pointed out that the company had failed to vest the property with their client within the stipulated time period.
The directors of the company who are also shareholders have been barred from leaving the country.
