ICE, Hashish, and Cannabis Seized in Raid on House in Weligama

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Midigama Police, arrested a suspect with various types of drugs in his possession, during a house search in Weligama last night.

The police said that the search was carried out based on information received in a tip-off.

Among the drugs seized by the police were cannabis, Hashish, and ICE (Crystal Methamphetamine), with a total value exceeding Rs. 5 million.

The arrested suspect is scheduled to be presented before the Matara Magistrate's Court.

In a separate operation in Kotugoda, which borders the Minuwangoda and Ja Ela police divisions, 173 barrels filled with Moonshine worth millions of rupees were found.

The police confirmed that this operation was carried out by the Bemmulla Police, based on information received by the Senior Police Superintendent of the Gampaha Division, Jagath Rohana.

The police also faced significant challenges in recovering other hidden items buried underwater.
