COLOMBO(News1st): An adjournment motion debate took place in Parliament today (8th) on the Annual Report of the Central Bank, the Performance Report of the Ministry of Finance and the Mid- Year Report on the Fiscal Status of the Government. Speaking during the debate, Leader of the Jathika Jana Balawegaya Anura Kumara Dissanayake claimed, had been vested with the power to punish wrongdoers and criminals most current Parliamentarians would be in Parliament. "You cannot cover your crimes by wearing white attire. Although your clothing is pure, your behaviour is dirty", Anura Kumara Dissanayake said. State Minister Ajith Nivard Cabraal weighing in on the debate levelled allegations against the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, the party which Anura Kumara Dissanayake represents. "His party robbed 682 Post Offices. Destroyed 20 vehicles that belonged to the Department of Posts. Destroyed 13 Communication Centres. Torched 550 CTB buses. 15 bus depots were also torched", the State Minister alleged.
