COLOMBO (News1st): Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of the National Peoples' Power, has said that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa must not play with national resources.
"All past rulers of our country gambled with our national resources. They acted as brokers to sell off the country's national assets," Dissanayake said during a media briefing on Sunday.
He made these remarks after the President on Saturday said he is not afraid of trade unions, amidst a strike over the Colombo Port's East Container Terminal.
"I wish to tell Gotabaya Rajapaksa that he can't threaten and suppress anyone who is striving to protect the country's resources," the NPP leader said.
He also claimed that the President has not addressed the supporters of the SLPP and explained as to why the people should vote for his camp.
