Anurudhdha Sampayo claims he is being framed and wants President and PM to save him

Colombo (News 1st); The Negombo Prison Superintendent Anurudhdha Sampayo who was arrested this afternoon in Kurunegala claims he is being framed and is a victim of a witch hunt.

In a video obtained by News 1st, Sampayo stated he did not surrender to police immediately as he was awaiting the verdict from the Court of Appeal on the petition filed by him.

" I surrendered on behalf of the President and because they are tarnishing the good name of the minister (Johnny), despite the statements made against me by the Attorney General's Department," said Sampayo.

He further called on the President and the Prime Minister to save him and his colleagues, adding he faced issues during the former government and the same is happening with the present government.
