Colombo (News 1st); Teachers Unions have called on authorities to ensure the lives of students are protected in the wake of a risk of a second wave of the coronavirus.
Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers' Union said there are 4.3 million students and 247,000 teachers in Sri Lanka in addition to the 15,000 Principal and raised concerns regarding the safety of all in the education system.
"It is disappointing if politicians are acting in a manner which disregards all concerns," said the General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers' Union.
