Heat warnings issues to several parts of Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News1st): The meteorological department has warned of extreme heat levels that could be felt in several areas of the country on Sunday. In a heat advisory, the weather authority warned that temperature could reach "danger levels" in the district of Puttalam, Anuradhapura, Mannar, Vauniya, and Mullaitivu. This would mean that the temperature felt by the body could range between 41 and 51 degree Celcius. The meteorological department also issued "extreme caution" heat warnings to the Eastern, Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa provinces and the districts of Kurunegala, Polonnaruwa, Monaragala and Kilinochchi. Heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible under both these situations, the warning read.
