COLOMBO (News1st): The government has announced that the curfew which was re-imposed for 19 districts at 2 pm today (March 30) will be in effect until 6 am on April 1.
This curfew will be in effect except for the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttlam, Kandy, and Jaffna districts, the President's Media Division said in a statement.
According to the statement issued by the PMD travelling between districts except for essential needs is completely prohibited during this time period.
The public will be neither allowed to enter nor leave the Atulugama area in the Kalutara district and the Akurana area in the Kandy district which have been placed under lockdown, the statement added.
Earlier, the government had identified the Colombo, Gampaha, and Kalutara districts as high-risk zones for the spread of COVID 19.
