All Dambadiva pilgrims have returned to the country : Ministry of Foreign Relations

COLOMBO (News1st): The Ministry of Foreign Relations says that all Sri Lankans who undertook a religious pilgrimage to Dambadiva, India have returned to the country. According to the ministry, approximately 1500 Sri Lankans who undertook the pilgrimage were in India, when Sri Lanka suspended the arrival of all flights. The ministry, in a statement,  said the last SriLankan Airlines flight carrying 48 pilgrims, left New Delhi at 5:10 am before India closed its airports for flight arrivals. Earlier today, another SriLankan Airlines flight brought back 97 Sri Lankans from Chennai, raising the total number of pilgrims who returned to the country today upto 145. Since then, all these pilgrims had left India on scheduled commercial flights and later on dedicated SriLankan Airlines flights that operated afterwards.
