17 suspected Coronavirus patients still in hospitals

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Ministry of Health states that nearly 17 suspected Coronavirus patients are being treated at a number of hospitals in various parts of the country. Senior Scientist of the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health, Specialist Dr. Sudath Samaraweera states that their samples have been sent across to the Borella Medical Research Institute. Further, the Ministry has also decided to send biological samples of the Chinese national in Sri Lanka who was tested for Coronavirus to Hong Kong. Dr. Samaraweera says that the samples will be sent over to the university where Sri Lankan national, Professor Malik Peiris is leading the charge on finding a cure for the Coronavirus. Meanwhile, blood and beta samples of close to 25-30 patients who are suspected to have the virus have also been tested by the Borella Medical Research Institute presently.
