Kerala cannabis worth Rs. 1 mn seized in Wilpattu

Colombo (News 1st): A stock of Kerala cannabis was taken into custody by the Nochchiyagama Police while it was concealed and transported in a luxury vehicle. The stock valued at Rs. 1 million was taken to police custody at the Wilpattu Junction. Two suspects aged 22 and 24 were arrested along with the stock of Kerala cannabis. The preliminary investigations revealed the suspects are residents of Akurana and the stock of drugs was transported from Jaffna to Puttalam. Police noted further investigations are currently underway to identify whether the stock was transported to Jaffna through the seas. The suspects are due to be produced before the Thambuththegama Magistrate court today.
