  1. With the decision to halt the collection of garbage from the Colombo city limits from August 5th, the CMC states that 1650 metric tonnes of garbage have been accumulated within the city limits without a proper solution.
  2. Amnesty International has issued a travel advisory for possible travelers and visitors to the United States, urging them to exercise extreme caution when traveling through the country. It has been issued due to the recent rampant gun violence.
  3. Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa says that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) as a party has not been invited for the general assembly of the SLPP, which is due to be held on the 11th of this month.
