Colombo (News 1st): Nine luxury buses were handed over to the Sri Lanka Transport Board today (June 27). A total sum of Rs 153.9 million was spent to acquire these luxury buses.
These buses are to be added to the fleet of buses in seven bus depots island wide. The buses are equipped with passenger safety features, air conditioning and a security camera system.
Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Arjuna Ranatunga noted they are still used to building their buses on lorry chassis and transporting the people of this country. He added these buses were handed over to the SLTB as a measure of changing this situation and they are also planning to bring down 2000 of these buses to Sri Lanka.
