Colombo (News 1st): For the very first time, Sri Lanka Police released the identities of 09 suicide bombers responsible for the 08 attacks which took place on Easter Sunday.
The attack on St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade was carried out by Alahudeen Ahamed Muaad from Central Road, Mattakkuliya.
The attack on St.Sebastian's Church, Katuwapitiya was carried out by Atchchi Muhammadu Muhammadu Hasthun from AFC Road Valachchenai.
His wife was identified as Sarah - wanted by CID over the attacks - and she is believed to have died in the explosions in Sainthamaruthu.
The attack on the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo was carried out by Mohamed Azam Mohamed Mubarak from New York Street - Colombo 12 & Bandaranaike Mawatha Colombo 12.
The attack on the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo was carried out by Mohamed Cassim Mohamed Zaharan from Mohideen Mosque Road, Kattankudy 03 and Mohamed Ibrahim Ilham Ahamed from Mahawila Gardens, Dematagoda.
The wife and daughter of Mohamed Cassim Mohamed Zaharan were injured in the explosions in Saithamaruthu where 16 people died in a mass suicide.
Mohamed Cassim Mohamed Zaharan's father and brothers Rilwan and Sheini were killed in the explosions in Saithamaruthu.
The attack on the Zion Church in Batticaloa was carried out by Mohamed Nassar Mohamed Asad from Cemetary Road, New Kattankudy.
The attack on the Cinnamon Grand in Colombo was carried out by Mohamed Ibrahim Inshaf Ahamed from Mahawila Gardens, Dematagoda - he was the owner of the copper factory in Wellampitiya which was raided.
Mohamed Ibrahim Inshaf Ahamed's wife is currently in the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department.
The suicide bomber responsible for the explosion at Tropical Inn Dehiwala was identified as Abdul Lathif Jameel Mohammed from Welamboda, Gampola and Lansiyawatte, Wellampitiya.
The explosion at the house in Mahawila Gardens in Dematagoda was carried out by Fathima Ilham, she was the wife of Ilham Ahamed - the suicide bomber from the Shangri-La Hotel.
Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera speaking to reporters said DNA tests are being carried out to further ascertain the identities of these suicide bombers.
