Curfew lifted; two more suspects remain at large -Intelligence services

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The police stated that the police curfew in Chavalakadai, Samanthurai and Kalmunai yesterday(April 30) was lifted at 6.00 this morning. Security officials said that operations to apprehend Easter Sunday terror attack suspects, explosives and other harmful equipment are conducted continuously. The Police, STF and the tri-forces are equally dedicated and are entrenched in their security activities. State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardena noted that based on the information provided by the intelligence officers two or lesser number of suspects related to Sunday Easter attack are still at large. However, intelligence officers revealed that the identities of a number of individuals who had aided and abetted the chief suspects are to yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, the police have commenced operations regarding an explosion which had occurred in Thebuwana. The explosion had occurred when a garbage dump in the area was set on fire. Window panes of a nearby residence were shattered due to the explosion.
