Unattended 5-year-old drowns at Galkadawala Tank

Colombo (News 1st): Importance of having parents' full attention towards protecting children from dangerous instances was yet again recalled by an incident took place in Galgadawala, Ralapanawa in Anuradhapura yesterday (April 19). 5-year-old Nimesh Gimhana, the youngest of the family of 4, had gone bathing in the Galkadawala Tank yesterday (April 19) with relations when tragedy struck. A family relative had bathed the 5-year-old and had placed him on the tank bund. However, a few minutes later 5-year-old Nimesh had gone missing. A relative noted that after a quite a long search they came across Nimesh's body which suddenly appeared in the water.  When 5-year-old Nimesh died at the Galkadawala Tank, it once again reminds the nation of the importance of paying attention to one's children.
