Colombo (News 1st): Sports 1st Allianz Platinum Awards 2018 got underway at Stein Studios in Ratmalana today (March 29). The award ceremony commends and recognizes Sri Lanka’s talented sportsmen and women. Following are the awards that were presented:

Emerging Sportsmen of the Year -Akalanka Peiris (Swimming)
Emerging Sportswomen of the Year - Parami Wasanthi (Athletics)
Female Junior Athlete of the Year - Parami Wasanthi (Athletics)
Male Junior Athlete of the Year - Aruna Dharshana (Athletics)
School Team of the Year - Royal College Basketball team
Physical Training Instructor of the Year - Janitha Jayasinghe (Kuliyapitiya Central College)
University Athlete of the Year - Erandi Dilushika (Sri Jayawardenapura University)
Differently abled Athlete of the Year - Dinesh Priyantha (Sri Lanka Army)
Motor Sports Person of the Year - Ashan Silva
Team of the Year - Kandy Rugby
International Team of the Year - National Netball Team
Female Military Athlete of the Year - Dinusha Hansini (Sri Lanka Air Force)
Male Military Athlete of the Year - Indika Dissanayake
Coach of the Year - Pradeep Nishantha (Athletics)
Female Cricketer of the Year - Chamari Athapaththu
Cricketer of the Year - Dimuth Karunaratne
Female Outstanding Player of the Year - Anusha Kodithuwakku (Boxing)
Male Outstanding Player of the Year - Indika Dissanayake (Weight Lifting)
Lifetime Achievement Award - Muttiah Muralitharan
