P.S.M. Charles reinstated as Custom's Director General

Colombo (News 1st): P.S.M. Charles has been reinstated to the post of Director General of Customs for a period of three months. Cabinet granted approval for the extension this evening. Customs personnel launched a Trade Union Action following the removal of P.S.M. Charles from the post of Customs Director General, citing she was removed without reasonable cause. In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers had given the green light for the President's proposal to grant a one-year service extension to the Commandant of the Police Special Task Force, Senior DIG M.R. Lathif.
