Court dismisses petition on President's mental health

COLOMBO (News 1st) -
The court of appeal has dismissed an application calling for a mandamus writ to
be issued
to the Fort OIC and the IGP.
The mandamus writ was to
be issued
calling for a medical report on the President's Mental health. However, t
he court decided that the petition was baseless.
The said petition
was filed by
an individual named Thakshila Lakmali Jayawardhena.
The court also ordered the petitioner to pay legal costs of Rs.100,000 to the respondents.
The petition
was taken
up before the President of the Court of Appeal Justice P Padman Surasena, and Justice Arjuna Obeysekara
