Reuters - Belgium fans celebrated securing third place in the World Cup on Saturday after beating England 2-0 in St Petersburg. The victory means Belgium claimed best-ever finish at a World Cup and sent Gareth Southgate's side home with a second straight loss. English and Belgian fans were in the minority at the Saint Petersburg stadium, where fans would often break into raucous chanting for Russia. But for those fans that did come to support their national team the game was still a worthy battle. "I am very proud of this team, this means a lot for us, third place in the World Championship. I am really touched, there is a lot of emotions," said Belgian fan, Steven Verleysen. "We were hoping that they would go into the final, but we are very happy with the third place. We think they are a great team and we love them," said another Belgian fan, Annick Grisar. Brothers Dan and Mark Garner said their beloved England team was overpowered. "We played against, what I reckon on paper anyway, was the best team in the World Cup and that's more experience for us," said Dan Garner. France will be facing Croatia in Sunday's final at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
