Suspect Arrested in Kuliyapitiya with Illegal Firearms

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A suspect was arrested in the Kandanegedara area of Kuliyapitiya with a foreign-manufactured 12-bore arm and a live hand grenade.

Police said six live BMG rounds were also found in his possession.

The raid was carried out by a team of officers from the Organized Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), based on information received.

The suspect is a 40-year-old resident of Walakumburamulla, Kuliyapitiya.

The Criminal Investigation Department is conducting further investigations into the incident.
