Plantation Workers To Receive Rs. 4.5 Billion In Overdue Gratuity

COLOMBO (News1st);The payment of overdue gratuity allowances for plantation workers, which have remained unpaid for over 20 years, will commence tomorrow.

The Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure stated that the inaugural ceremony will be held at the Kandy District Secretariat.

Dr. Sisira Ranathunga, Chairman of the Sri Lanka State Plantations Corporation an institution affiliated with the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure stated that a sum of LKR 4.5 billion is set to be distributed to the plantation community under this initiative.
