41 Arrested with narcotics at Theldeniya Party

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police have arrested 41 people, including five women at a raid carried out on a party organized via Facebook, in Teldeniya.

Various drugs and alcohol were seized during the raid.

Police said the raid was carried out based on information received by the Teldeniya Police Station.

Police seized 947mg of cannabis, 3.657g of hashish, 1.276g of Crystal Methamphetamine or commonly known as ICE, 18 drug pills, 21 illegal cigarettes, 35 cans of 500ml beer, and 13 bottles of 750ml liquor.

The male suspects, aged between 21 and 40, are residents of Gelioya, Aluthwatta, Warakapola, Peradeniya, Ampitiya, Kandy, and Hanguranketha areas.

Police also said five women, aged between 22 and 43, from Pallekele, Peradeniya, Hanguranketha, Dehiwala, and Katugastota were among those arrested.
