Search Operations Continue for Missing Navy Sailor in the Seas Off Angulana

COLOMBO (News 1st): Search operations to locate the missing Navy Sailor are continuing. 

The sailor attached to SL Navy went missing after the fast attack craft capsized in the seas off Angulana last afternoon. 

The joint search and rescue operation is being conducted by the Navy and the Air Force.

Two Sri Lanka Air Force helicopters—an Mi-17 and a Bell 412—have been deployed for this purpose.

Operations to recover the craft are underway alongside the rescue operation.

Eleven Navy personnel who were aboard the craft have been rescued.

The vessel that met with the accident yesterday is a Super Dvora Mk III fast attack craft belonging to the Navy.
