Weather Situation Under Review Amid El Niño Conditions

COLOMBO (News 1st); A review meeting regarding the impact of the current weather conditions is scheduled to be held on the 17th of August.

Minister of Water Supply Susil Ranasinghe said the meeting was convened by the Cabinet Sub-Committee formed to mitigate the impact of the El Niño condition, with all relevant stakeholders taking part.

The Department of Meteorology forecasts that the impact of the El Niño condition will persist until next April.

Director General Ajith Wijeweera said that dry weather conditions will prevail in early September.
