127 Raids Conducted So Far This Year Over Substandard Atapirikara

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Consumer Affairs Authority says special raids targeting substandard Atapirikara (Religious offerings) and related items are continuing across the island.

The Authority said the raids are being carried out to check whether sellers of Atapirikara and Pirikara items are complying with the relevant legal requirements.

A total of 127 raids have been conducted so far this year.

The Consumer Affairs Authority also said legal action was taken against 92 such establishments during raids conducted on the 10th alone.
