President To Meet Agriculture Officials Over Yala Paddy Purchasing Program

COLOMBO (News 1st): A meeting is scheduled to be held today between officials related to the agricultural sector and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Director General of Agriculture, Thushara Tennakoon, stated that the meeting is bein held to discuss the government's program for purchasing paddy during the Yala season.

Meanwhile, discussions have been held regarding the potential impact that the predicted upcoming El Niño condition could have on crop cultivation, coconut cultivation, fisheries, and the dairy industry.

This was discussed during yesterday's meeting of the Food Security Committee.

Director General of Agriculture, Thushara Tennakoon, stated that the steps to be taken during the upcoming Yala and Maha seasons were discussed during the meeting.
