227kg Kerala Cannabis Seized by Special Task Force, Cache Allegedly Linked to Dubai Nipuna

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Officers from The Police Special Task Force (STF) has seized a stock of Kerala cannabis allegedly linked to a large-scale drug trafficker and organised crime figure known as “Dubai Nipuna.”

Police said the cannabis stock was found abandoned and hidden by the roadside during a raid carried out in Kalutara South. 

No suspects were present at the location. 

The seized narcotics were handed over to the Kalutara South Police for further investigations.

Meanwhile, STF officers also recovered a large stock of Kerala cannabis that had been buried and hidden in the Aluthgama lagoon area.

The STF stated that around 227kg and 620g of Kerala cannabis, packed into 102 parcels, were recovered during the operation.
