CIABOC Launches Probe into Importation of Rapid Antigen Test Kits

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has commenced an investigation into a fraud committed against the government involving the importation of Rapid Antigen Test kits worth Rs. 3.1 billion, into the country through an unregistered company.

On the December 19, 2024, Sanjaya Mahawatta, the President of the "Magen Ratata" organization, lodged a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption regarding the fraud committed against the government, by importing Rapid Antigen Test kits into the country.

A letter addressed to Sanjaya Mahawatta, signed by the Commission's Secretary K.G. Lanerolle, states that an investigation into the relevant fraud has been initiated.
