COLOMBO (News 1st); The United States has postponed planned military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five‑day period, following what President Donald Trump described as “very good and productive” talks between Washington and Tehran aimed at resolving hostilities in the Middle East.
In a statement, Trump said the United States and Iran have held in‑depth, detailed and constructive conversations over the past two days, focused on achieving a complete and total resolution of ongoing hostilities. He said the discussions had taken place in a constructive manner and would continue throughout the week.
Based on the tenor and tone of those conversations, Trump said he had instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days.
The pause, he said, is subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions.
