Fisherman Missing After Boat Found Ashore In Ambalantota

COLOMBO (News1st): A fisherman who set out to sea from the Hambantota Fisheries Harbour has been reported missing. The missing individual has been identified as a resident of the Chitragala area in Ambalantota.

According to the police, the fisherman had ventured out to sea alone in his fishing craft yesterday afternoon. 

Meanwhile, his vessel was later found washed ashore at the Pattiya Harbour in Ambalantota. 

Police further stated that the Sri Lanka Navy has been formally notified to conduct a search and rescue operation to locate the missing person.
