Second Arrest Made Over Akuregoda Double Murder of Buddhika Mallawarachchi and Wife

COLOMBO (News 1st): Another suspect has been arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the Akuregoda double murder.

Police stated that a 42-year-old resident of the Polgasowita area was arrested in this manner.

Police mentioned that investigations regarding the suspect are being carried out under 72-hour detention orders.

Meanwhile, the suspect shooter involved in the Akuregoda double murder was arrested the day before yesterday in the Delduwa area of Ambalangoda.

The arrested suspect is a 46-year-old resident of the Baddegama area.

In the meantime, investigations have revealed that the driver of the motor vehicle used in the shooting has fled the country.

Attorney-at-Law Buddhika Mallawarachchi and his wife were shot and killed on the afternoon of the 13th in Akuregoda, Thalangama.
