Presidential Commission Extends Deadline for Public Complaints on Colombo Municipal Council Corruption Probe

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry into alleged corruption and fraud at the Colombo Municipal Council, has extended the period for accepting public complaints and information.

Accordingly, the extension will be valid until March 16. 

The Commission was appointed to investigate allegations within the Colombo Municipal Council during the period from 2010 to 2025 regarding Acts of corruption, fraud, criminal breach of trust, misuse or abuse of power, government resources, and privileges, Illegal recruitments, Appointments and violations of procurement guidelines, Irregularities committed in the renting or leasing of immovable or movable property, Legal proceedings and settlements conducted outside of proper due process.

Any written complaints or information regarding this can be submitted in Sinhala, Tamil, or English to the Secretary of the Commission at the address "No. 152, Galle Road, Colombo 03."

All submitted information must include the name, address, contact numbers, National Identity Card number, or Passport number of the persons providing the complaints or information.
