COLOMBO (News 1st); Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly defrauding people with false job offers in Romania and Canada.
The Foreign Employment Bureau said one suspect, who allegedly defrauded victims of Rs. 3.6 million by promising jobs in Romania, was arrested in the Kadana area of Ja-Ela.
The suspect had reportedly deceived two individuals from Kelaniya and Veyangoda with promises of truck driving jobs in Romania.
Meanwhile, another suspect, accused of defrauding a person of Rs. 5.5 million by offering nursing jobs in Canada, was arrested in Negombo.
