COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo District Court announced that the interim order sought by MP Dayasiri Jayasekara, requesting the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) be instructed to allow him to function without obstruction as the party’s General Secretary, will be delivered on February 17.
The order was initially scheduled to be delivered today. However, the District Court Judge informed the court that the ruling would instead be issued on February 17.
In his petition, Dayasiri Jayasekara states that the District Court has previously recognized him as the duly appointed General Secretary of the SLFP.
Based on those earlier orders, he has requested the court to issue further directives ensuring he is able to carry out the responsibilities of the post without interference.
The case will now be taken up again on February 17, when the court is expected to announce its interim decision.
