COLOMBO (News1st): The 78th National Independence Day of Sri Lanka is being celebrated today.
All arrangements are finalized to celebrate The 78th National Independence Day with grandeur and dignity.
The ceremony will take place at 8:30 AM at the Independence Square in Colombo, presided over by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
This year's celebration is being held under the theme "Building Sri Lanka".
Professor Chandana Abeyrathne, Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, stated that approximately 2,000 guests, including foreign diplomats, will attend the today's National Independence Day celebrations.
3,557 members of the Tri-Forces will participate in the Guard of Honor.
400 members from the Police and the Special Task Force (STF) and Members of the National Cadet Corps and the Civil Security Force will also take part in the parade.
