COLOMBO (News1st): Extending his warm wishes for the 78th National Independence Day, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, called the public to move beyond symbolic celebrations and work toward the true objectives of freedom, building a future that reflects the country's shared aspirations.

In his message for the National Independence Day, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, highlighted the nation's significant shift toward stability and integrity.

President Dissanayake noted that this year's anniversary coincides with a pivotal moment in history. Despite daunting challenges, Sri Lanka is moving forward with a renewed sense of economic stability. He emphasized that through the collective struggle and determination of citizens, the country has achieved strong progress in just 18 months.

He acknowledged that while Sri Lanka has historically missed key opportunities for unity and progress, the current administration is resolute in breaking that cycle. He pledged to transform the nation into a resilient, modern state while remaining firmly rooted in the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
