Firearm License Renewal Deadline for 2026 Ends Today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Defence announced that the deadline for renewing firearm licenses for 2026 ends today.

According to the Ministry’s Media division, firearm owners who have not yet renewed their licenses are required to do so before the 10th of February, subject to payment of the applicable fines.

The Ministry further warned that legal action will be taken against all firearm owners who fail to renew their licenses by the specified date, as possession of a firearm without a valid license is an offence.
