2026 Grade One Admissions Begin, New Education Reforms Launched

COLOMBO (News1st): Enrollment of students into Grade One for the year 2026 is taking place today.

The new education reforms pertaining to Grade One will also come into effect starting today.

Accordingly, Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Madhura Seneviratne, said that the inaugural program for the new education reforms will be held today at Athurugiriya Gunasekara Vidyalaya, under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya asserted that no individual will be treated unfairly during the process of implementing education reforms.

The Prime Minister stated this while participating in a program held in Galle to provide housing assistance to 250 low-income families.
