COLOMBO (News 1st) The Secretary to the Ministry of Finance has issued a new circular to provide further relief to businesses that have been disrupted due to the recent disaster.
This comes in addition to the concessions previously granted to businesses affected by such disasters.
ccording to the new circular, a one-time payment of Rs. 200,000 will be granted to individual small and micro-businesses registered with the Ministry of Industries.
This same amount is also applicable to individual small and micro-businesses registered as a business entity at Divisional Secretariats.
The circular issued by the Ministry of Finance also provides provisions to pay a one-time allowance of Rs. 50,000 for unregistered trade businesses operated within permanent residential buildings.
Furthermore, an amount of Rs. 50,000 is set to be provided for unregistered manufacturing industries and greenhouses.
Provisions are also made through this circular to pay an allowance of Rs. 25,000 for temporary trades that have been disrupted by the disaster, including street hawking and mobile vending.
