Renuka Ekanayake Questioned Again Over Dairy Cattle Import Deal

COLOMBO (News 1st); A former top government official, Renuka Ekanayake, appeared before the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) to provide a statement regarding an ongoing investigation into the importation of dairy heifers from Australia between 2012 and 2017.

Police confirmed that Ekanayake arrived at the FCID around 9:00 a.m. and left at approximately 4:45 p.m., after hours of questioning related to the controversial transactions.

This marks her second appearance before investigators in connection with the case.

She previously recorded a statement on June 23 as part of the same inquiry.
