No Explosives Found After Search at Kandy District Secretariat

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The search operation at the Kandy District Secretariat has been completed, with police confirming that no explosives were found on the premises. 

The operation was launched yesterday after an email sent to the District Secretary’s official account claimed that bombs had been planted at five locations within the Secretariat.

Police said search teams, including the Police K-9 Unit, the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Special Task Force, and the Army Bomb Disposal Unit, were deployed during the operation.

Meanwhile, police stated that investigations into the email that triggered the bomb scare have been handed over to the Police Computer Crime Investigation Unit.
