Fatal End to Kohuwala Shooting: Victim Succumbs to Injuries

COLOMBO (News 1st); The victim of the shooting in Kohuwala has passed away while receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.

Police say the deceased was a 26-year-old resident of Kalubowila.

The incident occurred on the night of December 23, 2025, when two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at the victim as he was traveling in a three-wheeler.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was the result of a conflict between organized crime gangs. 

Police further noted that the deceased had known links to drug trafficking.
