Suspect Steals Lorry, Causes Fatal Accident

COLOMBO (News 1st); One person has died and four others have been injured in two accidents caused by a suspect who was fleeing after stealing a lorry in Kandana.

Police stated that the suspect stole the lorry, which was parked at a businessman's house, and was attempting to escape when the owner and employees pursued him.

The suspect collided with two motorcycles in while driving the lorry without stopping. 

The deceased has been identified as a 43-year-old resident of Gampaha.

The arrested suspect is currently receiving treatment at the Ragama Teaching Hospital under police guard.
