Armed Forces Commemorative Day And Poppy Day Observed In Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st);The Armed Forces Commemorative Day and Poppy Day celebration was held this morning, under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya

The Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association organized today’s event to honor and pay tribute to the brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives to protect our motherland from the First World War to the present day.

The Armed Forces Commemorative and Poppy Day ceremony was held this morning at the War Heroes’ Memorial in Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo, 

The event was attended by a distinguished gathering including Deputy Minister of Defence, Retired Major General Aruna Jayasekara, Secretary of Defence, Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha, commanders of the tri-forces, serving and retired senior military officers, government representatives, and families of fallen soldiers.
