Over 1,000 Suspects Arrested in 'A Nation United' National Mission

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Another 1,056 suspects were arrested under the ongoing 'A Nation United' National Mission.

During raids conducted yesterday, police seized 311 grams of heroin and 1 kilograms and 173 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE).

Authorities have issued detention orders for 39 suspects, while another 53 have been referred for rehabilitation. 

'A Nation United' National Mission, launched on the 30th of October, aims to disrupt the supply of drugs across the country, reduce demand, rehabilitate addicts, and prevent drug abuse.

The initiative seeks to curb widespread drug trafficking through community empowerment and preventive programs.
