Archaeological Advisory Committee Appointed for Two-Year Term

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, has issued an Extraordinary Gazette Notification announcing the appointment of an Archaeological Advisory Committee.

The newly appointed committee comprises 19 members, including the Anunayake of the Asgiri Vihara of the Shyamopali Sect and Chief Prelate of the Solosmasthana in Polonnaruwa, Venerable Vedaruwe Dharma Keerthi Sri Rathanapala Upali Thero.

The Chief Registrar of the Malwatta Maha Vihara Chapter of the Shyamopali Sect, Venerable Dr. Pahamune Sri Sumangala Thero, is also among the appointed members.

According to the Gazette Notification, the Archaeological Advisory Committee will serve from March 10, 2025, to March 9, 2027.
